World Dancer
Tina is an Australian who was born in Hong Kong and has grown up travelling the world with her missionary parents. She has loved learning and performing many styles of dance, but is especially passionate about Belly dance and Bollywood. She learned and performed Bollywood dancing with the Radioactive' DanceGroup while living in Uganda for 7 years where there is a large Asian community. They performed for many charity and benefit concerts, corporate functions, musical theatre and pageants including the Miss Uganda Pageant.
Family Care's missionary work has included radio shows, character building programs and education for former child soldiers, feeding programs, donation distribution to IDP refugees and children's homes.
Since coming to South Africa 4 years ago, Tina focused on Belly dancing and was honored to work with many wonderful dancers and study the styles of Ansuya, Amira Mar, Jillina, Delilah, Carrie, Katia, Dondi, Sonya, Leyla Jouvana, Dolphina, Anaheeb, Rania, Danisa, and Bozenka.
She has been able to attend several workshops to hone her skills and has performed for 39 Ambassadors, the King and Queen of Zululand, local celebrities, numerous corporate events and fashion shows. Tina loves performing with fire, zills, veil, candles, fans, Isis Wings and swords to add drama to her beloved dance art form.
She is married to a Scottish/South African man whom she describes as “perfect”, has one beautiful daughter and continues to work with Family Care in South Africa.
