Zahra Zuhair

Zahra Zuhair has been traveling to the Middle East studying dance and culture since1979, specializing in the dances of Egypt. Zahra created Po Na Na Dance Theater in 1997, Po Na Na loosely means “a blend of many things.” Inspired by the traditional dances, arts and culture of the Middle East and North Africa, Zahra takes the audience on a magic carpet ride, from whimsical Arabian tales to ancient legends of profound spiritual allegory. Zahra teaches workshops worldwide and is also the founder and artistic director of Ghazella Dance Company, as well as co-owner of DanceGardenLA studio in Los Angeles.
