Mark Kraft

Mark's interest in world music dates back to his years of deejaying and concert promotion during the late '80s and early '90s. He went on to manage Underground Records, a dj-oriented record store, where he regularly promoted new music from around the world to many of the bay area's top deejays.

His later work with Sony in constructing broadcast and recording studios led to a successful career in the technology sector. He is currently the business manager of LiveJournal.com, a web-based service for online writers and one of the Internet's most successful online communities. He maintains an online journal at insomnia.livejournal.com where he writes about his life, technology, music, politics, cultural issues, and sexuality.

Mark is a Silicon Valley native and lives in San Jose, California with his wife, cats, computers, and an extensive music collection.
