Hana Ali
Born and raised in Pakistan, Hana moved to the United States several years ago and discovered her love of dance in 2002 in the form of Cuban salsa. She has been a student of Middle Eastern dance since 2004, under the inspiring and generous mentorship of Amina Goodyear. In addition to regular instruction with Amina, Hana has also studied with various workshop instructors including Astryd Farah, Fifi Abdo, Leila Farid, Raqia Hasan, Tito, Shareen el Safy and others. Hana lives and performs in the San Francisco Bay Area, dancing at restaurants, Arabic festivals and zeffas. Between April 2007 and September 2008, she was a performing member of the Palestinian dabke troupe Al-Juthoor, dancing with the group at various socio-political events in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Hana is also an aspiring percussionist, her main focus being the Egyptian tabla.
