Daleela

Daleela is an “ELLY” Award winning performer and choreographer who specializes in authentic Egyptian dance. Daleela has trained with numerous, well known Egyptian teachers including the world renowned, Jodette, Nadia Hamdi and Madam Bussi. As an international travel she hopes to spread the message of female celebration and power. She has performed in Egypt, and in the Rain Forests of Peru and Costa Rica, among many other countries. She has a Masters in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, (UCD). Her artistic training also includes dance and classical piano from UCD.

In 1999, Daleela won the prestigious “ELLY” award for “Best Female Lead” as the gypsy dancer, Esmeralda”, in Garbeau’s Family Theatre’s production of, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. She also gained the lead role as “Scheherazade” with Garbeau’s theatrical production of “Sinbad and the Arabian Knights”. Among her many other achievements, she was the featured dancer in the 1996 Indian film documentary, “Daulat”. In 1997, Daleela appeared on the cover of the international dance magazine, “El Raks El Sharki”.
