The Gilded Serpent presents...
Roza
Phoenix, Arizona
I am a reseacher and dance teacher of Egyptian or Oriental Dance, (Raqs Sharqi), who travels to Egypt yearly to study with a large number of native dancers at the International Ahlan Wa Sahlan Festival organized by Raqia Hassan. I founded and direct the Shahrazad Dance Company, a troupe of seven women performing in Phoenix, Arizona. As a member of the Council of International Dance at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, I have been involved in the research of authentic and historic dances of Egypt. CID@UNESCO is a group that researches and preserves folkart much as they preserve archtectural monuments such as the pyramids. I also read and write in Arabic as well as have a degree in education.
