Margaret started dancing in 2006 under Belinda Ferguson in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is currently studying philosophy at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where she comprises the small town's one-woman belly dance scene.
While formally trained in Modern Egyptian, she has openly interpreted her training to perform with Gypsy Jazz group Mishra's Dream
