The Gilded Serpent presents...

Khalida was born in Belgium and now lives in Germany. Her dance education started at an early age with ballet and jazzdance. Discovering Oriental dance changed her love for dancing into a lifelong passion.

She met her first teachers Myriam and Yamila in the Netherlands through the Bellydance Foundation "Stichting Dans van de Morgenstond". They inspired her and encouraged her to keep working on her dance skills and develop her own style. Khalida was invited to participate in a a three-year-course for professional teachers and performers in the Netherlands in 2004, from which she graduated in January 2007.

In November 2007 she won the 1st place in Leyla Jouvana's 'Bellydancer of the World' Competition in Duisburg.

At the moment Khalida performs internationally and teaches workshops and classes in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. Her specialities are classical Oriental or Raks Sharki, dancing with zills, double veil, dancing with sword, Isis wings and drum solos with bellybreak(*).

Khalida is known for her musicality, unique interpretation and stage presence.
