Janie "Jenee" Midgley is the author of "How to Put on a Belly Dance Workshop ... Without Going Crazy." A how to book that takes the reader step by step through the planning and preparation needed to put on a successful workshop. Also included in the book are the workshop forms she designed and contact information for over 50 workshop instructors. She gives away all her secrets to running the events sponsored by the Two Old Bags. Her first book, which was recently updated, the "Dancer's Notebook" was designed to keep dancers organized and informed. A binder of goodies like terminology and resources, with room to add choreography and workshop notes of your own. She has several more books in works to be published soon.

Janie is widely known as the Publishing Editor of Wiggle Hips magazine and one of its writers. She is one of the Two Old Bags, don't laugh it is a Nevada corporation. They sponsor High Desert Hip Fest and Wiggles of the West Belly Dance Contest every year in Reno, Nevada USA. More information can be found at the Two Old Bags web site at www.twooldbags.net

Belly Dance is her passion and her career. As the owner of Designs By Janie, she designs and makes costumes and costume pieces. Her best known designs are her comfortable body stockings. She also sells Belly Dance supplies from hip sashes to zills and books to music. The company motto is "We sell only what we believe in." Check out all the goodies at her web site www.designsbyjanie.com

Janie took her first Belly Dance lesson at the South San Francisco Parks & Recreation back in 1973. It was love at first hip drop and she hasn't stopped since. When she finds time to dance, she is still a crowd pleaser with her double sword or shamadan. Never a troupe dancer, she claims to be choreography challenged, this soloist always dances from her heart.
