The Gilded Serpent presents...

Havilah

I have been dancing as long as I can remember. I first took tap and jazz dance lessons at the age of three, and later hula, ballet, and modern dance. My introduction to belly dance was in college. I admired a beautiful dancer that named Shoshanna that I saw perform at a street fair in downtown Arcata, California. She later became my friend as well as my teacher, and I was one of the original members of her troupe, the Lailaa Chandani Dance Ensemble. We danced at the county fair, at dance festivals, in restaurants, coffee shops, the quad in the middle of our school...wherever anyone would let us. Like many dancers before me, I was hooked for life!

I now live in San Diego, CA with my husband and daughter, where I continue to study dance with Marula, who is a wonderful dancer and a very positive influence in my dance life. I am continuing to learn new things, and I have also branched off into other aspects of the dance world. Last year I started vending at shows with my clothing company, Kayley's Caravan Creations, which I named after my daughter. I still enjoy dancing as much as I ever have, and I still perform wherever anyone will let me.
