Beatrice Parvin grew up in Oxford, England where she first wrote poetry on her bedroom wall. She first studied acting then received her BA in English and History of Art at Goldsmiths College, London. She discovered Arabic dance and trained in the Maghreb style with Amel Tafsout, who continues to be an inspiration. For the last 15 years she has performed and taught at numerous events and festivals, mostly with Balkan maestros, ‘Mukka’ – including the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations at Buckingham Palace gardens. Her style is mixing the movements of the Maghreb with Turkish, Bulgarian and Romanian Gypsy traditions. She is currently on the MFA Creative Writing program at Kingston University.
