Editor's
note 8-5-08: Today we received the below note from
YouTube regarding our video clip covering
this event. Please
note that Gilded Serpent was invited to this performance,
sent a ticket and
let in early to the hall for set up and to cover
the
event for the community. The producer of this event
also appeared in an earlier
video posted on this site taken with the same
camera. GS was never told not to video tape and
there were
no
signs
posted
nor notices in the program.
Vashti and Suhaila are fully aware of the nature
of our
coverage. They made no complaints about our posting
video coverage until after viewing the video. Copyright
law protects the press under fair use:
'Section
107 contains a list of the various purposes for
which the reproduction of a particular work may
be considered
“fair,” such as criticism, comment, news reporting,
teaching, scholarship, and research.'
This
issue will be researched more fully and if
Gilded Serpent
is not allowed to function freely as is guaranteed
by our US Bill of Rights, our ability to serve
the community will be severely limited. It
is possible that if we are no longer able to serve
in this
capacity that we will discontinue our service
altogether. Thank you!
Please see letter from
the editor for more information (dated 8-11-08)

In
retail, there is a saying that having an item sell out was a happy
problem to have. You want to keep your customers yearning for more,
making sure they won't hesitate to buy the next time they see something
they want.

was fortunate to travel to Cairo on business in April '06, and
managed to take some time to see a few sights and, at least,

“Why
do students go against their own teacher,”Jodette continued

my head. It's a lament that I, too, have experienced from time
