The
Myth club entrance is in upper right corner
of this photo. Notice the people looking in
the window from the street because the club
is so full! Another Arab or Greek club is across
the street with more live music. The bar is
behind the people visible along upper left
margin. This photo was taken from the stairway
behind the band. Many of the instructors and
event organizers are seated at the table at
left. Drummer in foreground
is Suleiman Warwar and of
course that is Randa dancing!

the Veil by Yasmina Ramzy
I
excused
myself
first
and
then
asked her “why on earth would someone
obviously not of Middle Eastern heritage
actually choose to wear the veil?”She
smiled knowingly and gave me an answer
that still keeps me thinking today

Wise, others by author.
Not
being able to prepare my planned choreography properly for
the Oum Kalthoum song, which is not easy to interpret to
begin with, I quickly turned to emotions in order to fill
up the space.
