The Gilded Serpent presents...
Fahmia
Raised in Papua, New Guinea, and Australia by Indonesian-Arabic parents, Fahmia has always been enthused with dance and grew up listening to Middle Eastern music. Returning to Indonesia as a young adult, she started working in development for several non-governmental organisations before she struck out on her own, currently working as an language and communications consultant. After finally locating a bellydance class in 2007, Fahmia is now a passionate fledgling student of this art, under the tutelage of Christine Yaven, Bellydance Jakarta. She is also a member of the Bellydance Jakarta Dancers and performs with the troupe at various venues and events throughout Indonesia. Fahmia also handles external communications for Bellydance Jakarta.
