The Gilded Serpent presents
Salima

Salima is married, has a young son, and she says:

  • I started dancing (tap/jazz/ballet) at the age of five; then, I went on to teach in my early 20s.  I danced on the “$1.98 Beauty Show”, which was an old gag television show that Chuck Barris had on the air.
  • I was a Raiderette for four years; Raiderettes were professional cheerleaders for the Oakland Raiders.
  • I became interested and involved in local theatre, where I had to sing by myself in a spotlight …Now, that was a challenge!
  • I went into bodybuilding and even competed for titles a few times!

Ultimately though, I returned to dancing (and that is another story).  I do not know why I cannot sit still, but the tendency seems to run in my family.
