Daune began studying Raqs Sharqi (Oriental Dance) in 1994, which led her to darrabukka (drum) and riq (tambourine). She has attended the Mendocino Middle Eastern Music and Dance Camp, where she studied with Souhail Kaspar and Polly Ferber. She has played with Souhail Kaspar, Yair Dalal, Cameron Powers and members of Sherefe. She also plays for Suzanna del Vecchio’s annual Summer Middle Eastern Dance Camp.
